Default Post-fader instert

There are workarounds around this, but it would greatly make things easier if we had post-fader inserts.

I'm curious, could the post-fader insert be implemented with some script or extension or something?

Nope. Closest you can get is adding one of the JS volume plugins before the effects you want post-fader, show its volume slider as a parameter knob on the track, and leave the track fader at 0.

Surely this isn't something that is hard to implement? There are ton of different uses for this, and creating new tracks/busses isn't really a real solution either.

You can't do anything with a post-fader insert that you can't do now. It's a comfort thing - your preferred workflow, maybe what you're used to from hardware other DAWs, etc.

It doesn't hurt to ask, and I agree it would be nice for those of you who want it, but I wouldn't expect it to happen. People have been asking for it on and off for a good ten years at this point.

Well, in the upcoming Track Wiring Diagram there is the fader also shown, which - for me - signals an upcoming enhancement, that we will move the position of the fader in the future. But I guess with v6 then.
