Default using WAV files in tx16wx free version

Hello fellow Reapers. So, I got a question. Let's say I have a wav file. How do I map it/create a loop out of it so I can use it in a sampler such as the tx16wx? What process do I need to do to convert/alter it? It allows me to load it into the wave editor, but not the keyboard mapper. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check out the TX16Wx User Manual There are lots of details about slicing in there. I cannot recall if it is a Pro feature.

When sliced in the Wave Editor, drag the wave file (from the list) onto the Keyboard mapper tab (to switch to that view), then onto the first key to be used and click "Yes" in the "Layout slices" dialogue.

hey. So, I can't do the first step you mentioned. When I try to post the wav file into the keyboard mapper, it won't let me, and it auto-puts it instead into the wave editor. Could it be because I'm using the free version? Or is there something I am missing? If it is because I'm using the free version, then I'm gonna have to buy the pro version, then try the steps you laid out.

Could there be something in my settings for tx16wx that got messed up or altered? Cause I attempted to use a wav file that previously worked when I put it into the keyboard mapper, and now it's also going straight to the wave editor. I tried reloading my settings back to default, and it did the same thing again, went straight to wave editor. Hmm...

Hmm, that's odd, all's well here. I don't think that it is a Pro Version feature and I cannot think of any special preference settings.

You may not need that first step, just load it in the Wave Editor. I did it as I wanted the whole loop for playback too.

Did you create a program to map the wave into?
Tip: Top menu -> create perf+slot+prog
and
Settings: auto create sound items.
