Default erasing takes adds empty lane instead (FIXED)

Hi there, Im facing a problem for months now that is really messing up my workflow. Ive patiently waited to see if updates would fix the problem but they havent. The problem is that when i delete active takes it actually creates a new empty take on top of the take im trying to delete without deleting anything. Strangest part is that the numbers go up like this for example: I have Takes 4/4.. i delete the active take, then it becomes 5/4 (not 3/3 or at least 5/5 that would at least make a bit more sense). I have a video that you can see here which might help: https://photos.app.goo.gl/sMz7T4Jif1UHVjC18

I have tried every single update since february, and all have the same problem for me, therefor i have downgraded to 5.963 x64 which is the only one that doesnt have this problem for me. I'd love to update so please help me out

That is very strange! Could you run the action "File: Export configuration", select "configuration", and zip and post that file here (or email to support at cockos)?

I've run in to this problem a few times recently as well. It only seems to happen when a multi-take item has been split into two items and the resulting two items are left butted up against one another. Here's a gif to demonstrate:
