I haven't used it personally but there is this noise reduction plugin from Christian Budde:

I think there is a noise remover in the Toneboosters Mix Essentials bundle, which at $25 comes with a bunch of useful stuff. I'm demoing that bundle at the moment but have only had chance to try a couple out so far.

Hi

- SPectro is great but is in no way automatic.

- The TOneBoosters pack is a no brainer anyway, but the Hum Removal plugin, as its name suggests, is only good at removing hum. So it is ok for this kind of thing, but not really intelligent like a proper noies removal plugin should be (no dynamic equing, etc).

- WavesArts Noise restoration is good, but a bit pricey (well, less than Izotope RX or Waves stuff) ;

- Magix has a nice and cheap noise restoration software ("audio clean"), and despite not being perfect, it might be the best price/effificency ratio. It can be very efficient.

- Also, consider checking Acon Acoustica Studio Clean bundle, which is availabel as a host (Acon Acoustica Premium), or as a suite of plugins (vst & dx).

I should have asked earlier, but is there a particular type of noise you're trying to remove?

Thanks a lot!

WaweArts: Out of budget
TOneBoosters: Yes, that's only hum.
Spectro: I'm sure it's powerful, but it's not what I'm after. For clicks maybe?
Magix: Is that vst? Just standalone? Hm..
Christian Budde : Not bad, caused a crash though..
Acon Acoustica Studio Clean: Very good I'm getting dropouts. Is that the demo only?

Well, I need some general tolls for dealing with noise and clicks. Specifically noise this time from a bassguitars pickups.

Hi
Yes, Magix is a standalone application.
So far, it is the one which works the best for me. With the correct settings, i get a clean sound withno artifacts at all.

Bringing back this topic alive : i find the Acon REstoration Suite very good, efficient, easy to use, and well priced.

I have been using it for a while, and i enjoy it a lot, the results are very transparent !
