Default Auto select last recorded item?

I am investigating a different workflow by using just 1 docked MIDI editor per project. I usually do edits after i record the sequences (i am a bad player) and, in order to have my MIDI edtior automatically open the sequence i just recorded, i guess i´d need to autoselect it automatically when i hit stop after recording.

Is that doable?

There's got to be a way to do this... I've been searching all over. Help!

Yeah, I'm interested in this also.

In Cubase I just press the delete button to remove the last recorded item if I flub it without actually having to select it.

Does anyone know?

It defaults to doing this. What you have to do is change the MIDI record type from overdub to regular. It took me forever to figure this out, haha.

Midi overdub does not allow it to be selected upon stopping. Regular "record input: Midi" does.

There could be a scriptable(or using SWS actions) like:
1. (Custom action)
- store current project items
- transport: record
2. (Custom action)
- transport: stop
- select newly created item(s) (based on first script, so we now which items weren't in the project before)

Thst wont work if you have overdue recording mode selected, since there will be no newly recorded items right?

Then it could take into account common number of takes in all items and select only last take in item with changed number of takes relatively to previous state.
