Default $50 sound card

If you are looking for an inexpensive professional grade sound card, at this price level, it's hard to beat ...

That's really super cheap indeed. And it's worth checking if it comes with Tracktion t5.

Had one of the cheaper uphoria interfaces, the UMC22, as I wanted to try the MIDAS designed preamps.

I really wasn't impressed, as there was noticeable noise. Maybe these bigger brothers have better luck, tho. For 50 bucks a pop I wouldn't complain

Funny...

If you try to order the bundle with the vocal mic, prices seem to change.

First, the interface is shown at 39,99 and the mic 18,75, but that totals 79.99.

When you click "order", it's correct at fist, with a total of 58,74, but then changes to 64,99...

On the fly VAT, based on where you're from?

Prix à la tête du client?

Is this site legit? Seems like they don't offer but a few products and it's awful cheap(100+ on amazon).

It's a two-channel card, 24/192 stereo audio stream isn't going to use even 20% of USB 2.0 bandwidth.

I do 8 inputs with USB2 with zero problems at very low latency.

In most cases USB 3.0 or 3.1 is worthless for use with audio interfaces. Bandwidth isn't an issue there and latency wise, it doesn't bring anything to the table. Maybe standardized 900mA current draw as opposed to 500mA for bus powered small interface.
Although there are some existing 3.0 interfaces, there is either necessary to use mentioned bandwidth (UAD with DSP, RME MADIFace XT with huge channel count) or latency performance doesn't really justify the use of USB 3.0 (Presonus, Zoom).

I was looking at the big-brother
Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD‎
for remote recording.

Are they good enough?
(preamps), converters?
Latency?
Drivers, stability and compatibility?

Running it with another pair of preamps is an option for me.

Some comments about it on this KVR thread http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewto...f=102&t=402117

I'd perhaps look into the Steinberg units as alternatives, not quite as cheap but seem to be very solid choices from the affordable USB interfaces.

Music Group is the corporate group that owns Behringer, Midas and a few other well known brands. You could say it's like buying directly from the factory.
