Default Basics of metadata

Hi folks,

I'm not new to Reaper, but I'm kind of a newbie with metadata. I've started working with the media explorer to add metadata, and I need to add several new columns. I see where to call up the dialog box to add a user column, but I don't know what to put in for the key, and searching around for more info about metadata keys has mostly added to the confusion. I want to be able to add a new column that I can double click and enter some text; basically a Comments type column, but I want to add a few more with different names.

For context, I work primarily with nature sound recording, and I want to be able to add columns like "weather conditions", "coordinates," "microphones used" etc.

Thanks! This is my first time posting, so please LMK if this question is better for another forum.

Do you use one particular file format exclusively?

Same interrogation here.

I'm mainly using WAV and MP3. ID3 tags work for both. I need columns for Artist, Composer,Lyricist,Genre, Key, Tempo and Image file in addition to the title.

The better should be to have the ability to cook ourselves our prefered tagging options.
