Default Recording different versions of automation.

Hi all.

This relates to a previous thread which I posted.
How do you guys/girls record different versions of automation so you can compare them?

ie You use two plugins on say your main voc bus, and you want to automate one version where the first plugin is pushing in harder to the second plugin, but you also want a version where the second plugin is doing more of the work.

How do you have the two versions choosable so you can listen back to each one and a/b them easily. The only way I can see of doing it, it to duplicate the bus.

In my current DAW, Digital Performer, you simply duplicate the take within the bus, make your changes, and then flick between takes to see which you prefer. I found a work around with takes on audio tracks in reaper, but bus tracks with out audio on them don't even give you the opportunity to use takes.

Thanks,
Ski spiggy

You should be able to do this with SWS Snapshots.

Just note that snapshots don't work properly with automation items currently.
