Is there a PC build thread here somewhere? I’ve searched but have come up empty - but I’m guessing that’s on me.

Not sure there is much like that here...you can find a few new computer threads with snippets of advice but nothing like the massive ongoing threads at GS for example.

There have also been some semi-recent threads about using SSDs instead of spinning platter HDDs, but I can't find any at the moment.

I think something is wonky with the forum search, because it isn't finding any posts with "SSD" in the title or the content (but I know they are there). I also had trouble finding the posts I linked to above, even though I searched for "DAW" and "PC" which is clearly in the title and the content of the first one. The only way I found them was to search for threads that I started.

It stinks.

Try google with something like site:forum.cockos.com +"SSD"

There's a way to create a custom link for this but the above will work just as well.
