Default how to stretch..

sorry, this must have been asked a thousand times, but i cant find it searching the forum.. :

how do i stretch an audioclip in linux? when i hold alt at the corner of a clip the mouse cursor turns into the hand, but when i move the mouse i move the whole reaper, as in linux alt+click+drag does that. how do you circumvent this behaviour? thank you!

Looks like your Desktop Environment is using the ALT key for resizing/moving windows. You need to change this key in your DE settings to another one. How this works depends on your DE. What are you using?

I m using linux mint with cinnamon desktop. Thank you.

edit: hmm it s weird. I cannot find the option to change the shortcut in linux mint nowhere. I went through the dconf editor and checked the system settings-keyboard shortcuts but nothing there...

got it! found it in some linux mint forum finally:

Run the dconf editor from the main menu.

Navigate to org > cinnamon > desktop > wm > preferences and change the mouse-button-modifier.

Set it to <Ctrl> or <Super>, but don't leave it empty.

Just in case someone would be in the same situation as me :

I'm on Mint, Mate edition.
For me changing in dconf-editor did not work.

The solution was even simpler :

Just go to the Linux settings menu -> appearance -> windows -> Behaviour tab. Here is the option for the window-movement-mouse-modifier key. Just toggle from CTRL to SUPER.

Maybe the menus are named a bit different on your system, I don't know, I'm on a French system...

Hope this helps

On Xubuntu I used the main Linux menu "Settings->Windows Manager Tweaks->Accessibility" and set "key used to grab and move windows" to None.
