Default peavey PVXp 12 DSP or Yamaha DBR 12 powered speaker

Hi everyone.
I am looking at the two powered speakers mentioned above,
from Peavey and Yamaha, I can not demo them so looking for some advise
from users or people who have heard them, or have used these brands.

I need two speakers for a church setting, in two differing scenarios.
First off, they need to sound good with vocals and acoustic guitar and
from time to time CP_33 digital piano, and also be good for speech.

The second use is the youth, they will be playing songs from their ipads
or laptop through them, people are telling me that if they sound good for
this type of use, they will be HiFi sounding, and will not be so good for
acoustic guitar vocals and speech.

In either case, 60 to 120 people are in the audience at present,
so regardless of brand, would a 12inch woofer based unit be better sounding
on the guitar and vocals as opposed to a 15 inch woofer based unit, a sub
could / will be added later when crowd grows.

So far people tell me the Yamaha DBR is a good speaker but there is a lack of
presence in the mids, the peavey is better in this regard, but the peavey tweeter
is an Rx 14, the spec for that states only 30 watts continuous, 60 program and 120 peak,
this sounds low to me for the speakers quoted rms output, and is my major concern with going
the peavey route. it sounds good from what I hear on line but if its going to blow easily
its not much good, the Yamaha is 65 watt continuous rated and is eminence brand if I recall.
Being a tinkerer I like how peavey make the drivers available and they are a simple screw in
operation, but too much screwing makes them costly in the long run.
Peavey also has a 2.3 inch voice coil where Yamaha is 2 inch.

Thanks for looking in, would like to hear your views on this, thanks.

Both are "good brands".

I'd also look for "features" such as switchable mic/line inputs (or mixing), EQ adjustments, etc.

Is that just the tweeter specs? Speaker power-ratings get "complicated". In general, a powered speaker should have matched amplifiers & driver and you should be able to drive it slightly/occasionally into distortion with no damage (with regular program material). ...With constant high-power test-tones you can burn-out tweeters easily.

And wattage is only part of the story. Some drivers are more efficient/sensitive than others and a lower-power speaker with more efficient drivers may play louder than a higher-power speaker.

I don't know what that means... Hi fidelity is a good thing! (But, most home Hi-Fi speakers can't be "abused" and can be more-easily damaged electrically, physically, mechanically, or cosmetically, so they are not good for live use.)

I'd guess either of these speakers will sound great in a good room!

I assume the DSP on the Peavy allows you to EQ to whatever "sound" you like.

You can't always generalize, but a 15-inch should put-out more/better bass and it may play "louder".
