Always been curious about Fab but put off by their prices. So what is it you like so much about them?
At 40% off they are getting into my idea of "affordable"
Probably best to watch Dan Worral's videos. That said they are in the top couple of my favorite plugin suites if not the top.
As far as prices, only the first one or so stings, after that they are always discounted, the more you own the bigger the discount so I've never paid full price for anything but the first plugin anyway.

At first glance, their prices seem high, but after trialing and then buying Pro-C2 (comp), and Pro-Q2 (eq), I realised that I could have saved money if I'd bought them sooner and not spent the cash on multiple cheaper options... Anyways, to answer you question:
Top drawer sound quality, great filters (as you'd expect from the company name...), abundance of options and features (bang for your buck), and for me (maybe not for everyone) the GUI's are intuitive, give great feedback, are resizeable (mostly, the older plugins not so much), and look beautiful (also hardare accelerated).
They offer a 30 day trial, might be worth your time to try one (or two...).

This too ^^
I bought my first one from the KVR user sales forum, personal discounts still applied to their other plugins.
FabFilter get consistently high marks, per earlier post, likely better off to have added initially.
Question NOW is: how much 'better' are FF than FX added instead?
No need to throw out your existing toolbox, seems a little extreme if you're already invested in other things
I will say though, that most of the FF plugs I own have become my go-to in their respective plugin class (Comp, EQ, Saturation), and Neutron has pretty much bitten the dust here. But, other tools are always useful when I want a particular sound - e.g. the FF EQ doesn't do saturation/colouration so there's room for an EQ550, and a Slick EQ, etc... That said, I'm more than happy with TB Barricade 4 so I'm not interested in the FF limiter, as good as it is.
They have a 30 day trial, give one or two a spin to see if they fit your needs, workflow, and style sensibilites before throwing out the baby.
I have been waiting several years for a price drop... and here it is, 40% off!!!
I bought ProQ 3... and my god, I knew the interface was ultra intuitive, fast, responsive, and can boost your workflow... but to experience it yourself is something else.
Not talking about the sound, and the quality of the filters, or the fact that you have zero latency, natural phase or.. linear phase, in the same product.... but simply the speed and workflow efficiency...
I know understand why this is seen as the best EQ for cleaning/mixing.
I have bought other EQs I love for coloring, but for the rest, I have found my go-to EQ.

If Pro Q had attack and release controls (and especially if they had a hold control) i'd probably get it at this price, but toneboosters EQ 4 is working very well for me and has those (but not hold sadly)

This may just tip me over the edge to becoming a Fab Filter customer.
I had no idea you'd been suffering without them all this time. I have most of their plugins. Some great ones that don't get mentioned much are Saturn, Volcano and Timeless (see their param modulation abilities), I consider them creative secret weapons.

You're going to send me broke this month!!!
Those delay modulations are very cool though.
two days after I buy pro C 2???? Sonof a butcrack!!!!!!!!
Ouch! Hopefully, you're loving it, nonetheless.
With the exception of a few character comps, it looks to me that the Pro C2 is a "one stop, do it all" compressor. The abundant visual feedback and the fact that each flavor shares the same controls would probably make this an excellent choice for those of us struggling to learn the art of compression.

If that happened to me I would contact the company and see if they could give you the same discount as partial refund (if they are sensible they will do this to keep your custom) or give you an extra special discount on a second product to equivalent value, if you genuinely want any of their other plugins at this time.
If they are a smart company they won't want to offend their potential repeat customers. We aren't talking about a giant software house here like NI, they should be able to be flexible.
Would be really surprised if FF did not respond as @ Softsynth suggests.

@ RobU posted earlier …… 'no need to throw out your existing toolbox' ….. yet that is the dilemma for some.
Gimme 50% for my top, current FX and will purchase FF Bundle at these prices. Some will be major improvement, some, meh.
In most cases, strongest FF products would replace very strong non-FF FX:
EQ, Comp, Verb, Delay, Gain, Limiter, Gate, Saturation. Cost: ~ $400. ?
Kudos to FF for long-term quality. Very attractive at these promotional costs.

Ok. Upon discovering that Pro-Q 3 has dynamic EQ built in now and also supports multi channel audio, I reckon I'll take the plunge.
One question for those in the know, are all eight channels of a 7.1 setup with Pro-Q 3 full range? If so, I can use two instances of this as a master EQ for third order Ambisonic mixes.
FWIW I really like the Pro-R reverb as an algo. I've had it since it was released.
Just spent 1.5 hours comparing the Pro-R and Valhalla Vintage Verb and still can't decide which one works better for me. Can sound similar with some settings...

I took the plunge and purchased Pro-Q 3. Now I see what all the fuss is about! What an amazing tool!! Very intuitive and practical. This will definitely be my new default EQ.

I could have written this exact post. Picked it up last night. Such a beautiful gui.

Yep, you are officially sucked in now.

Errr.... Yep!
I just purchased Pro-MB too.
I've got the limiter demo installed too and about to do a shootout between it and other limiters that I currently have. The most transparent I have seems to be the Plugin Alliance Brainworx bx_limiter. It will be interesting to see how FabFilter compares.
Pro-L2 is one of my go to's. Be sure to select the transparent mode as I think it defaults to modern. I especially like the LUFs metering etc. being included. IIRC Dan has a great video on it.

Yeah. I also like that it has K System metering too. I'm still using Bob's K System all these years later.
I haven't spent a lot of time with the limiter yet but I have just added the Pro-MB to a mix I'm working on and am loving the sidechain function. It's so easy to set up and I love that it splits the sidechain frequencies to match the band being controlled. This thing is GREAT for carving out space in one instrument when another does a lead.

After doing an extensive shootout between my main limiters (Brainworx bx_limiter, Limiter no6, Ozone 5 Maximizer, Ozone 7 Maximizer) and Pro-L 2, I have made the purchase. The thing that impressed me most was the speed with which I could dial in what I wanted. Sound wise, I was able to get Ozone 7 Maximizer in the same ballpark but Pro-L was much cleaner when really pushed.
It does default to modern mode and I experimented with transparent and other modes but I have to say, I actually like modern the most.
CPU wise, it is quite reasonable and somewhere in the middle between all those mentioned above. Same with latency. Ozone 5 Maximizer had the longest latency and highest CPU use and Limiter no6 the shortest and lowest respectively.
Pro-L 2 was the winner when everything is factored in for my use, hence the purchase.
I now have Pro-Q 3, Pro-MB and Pro-L 2 and all for a great price thanks to this thread and the sale!

Dan Worrall.... The name that sells plugins!!
I watched his video on Pro-C 2 and purchased that without even installing the demo. I spent way more than I intended on FabFilter plugins during this sale but I also saved a small fortune so I'm a happy camper!
I should've just purchased the Mastering bundle and got everything I have with Pro-C 2 for free. I had no idea I'd be making all these purchases at the start though.
I'd love to know what the numbers looked like during that sale. I'm also curious about the effect of Dan's Reacomp videos. They certainly got me thinking a lot more about compressors and I ended up checking out a few different things. If the budget had allowed, I'd have snapped up the Pro C2 for sure.
