Turn midi into .wav?
Hi everyone, and thanks for your help, in advance.
I have a drum track, created with the Manda Power Drum Kit, great finished midi track.
I would like to record the drums on another track, basically have a .wav track of drums.
Is it simply routing the power drums to another track and recording? I've tried the RTFM, but am still confused- big shocker.
Thanks
Steve

Yes, just drag your I/O of the midi track to the I/o of the track you want wav on. On the wav track you want to 'record output'.
Cant remember off hand what you may need to do about both track volume faders.

You can also apply FX as a new take or render the entire track to stem (might be a notch faster than just live recording output to another track).

You could just freeze the track, or you could route it to another track and then freeze that. Just unlock the frozen item if you want to edit it.

now that seems obvious now! Thanks...
but, can the frozen track be edited as wav while frozen?

Glad to be of help.
It's what I like about Reaper - there are usually many ways to achieve the same ends and the help here is tremendous.
Further: I keep the midi track but muted ... just in case I want to change things later on

Yes, if you unlock the audio item you can edit it, but if you unfreeze it later you will get a warning that it will go back to how it was before you froze it, so all edits will be lost.
