Default Move the Newbie Forum up to where it can be seen

In the feature request section, I asked:

OLD BIT:
"I have been quietly whining about this for at least a couple of years & only just thought to try it as a feature request.

The Newbie section is currently buried way down the laundry list of forum sections,(15th out of 18 sections I think) so an awful lot (most!) of newbie requests for help end up anywhere but in the section expressly designed to offer help.
Surely it makes sense to have the Newbie stuff at the very least visible on the first page, but ideally in second or third slot?

Almost tempted to make a poll of this one, but maybe a simple show of "+1"s will attract the forum admin`s attention?"

NEW BIT:
So even if you DID eventually find the Newbie section, how about a plus one in that Feature Request section to help other neophytes when they first get here?

Thanks!

So many positive responses and nothing from devs or webmaster...

*sigh*

Gonna keep persevering till it either happens or someone "official" tells me to shut up.

I think that moving the Newbie Forum up the list would be a good idea.

Bump. Wondering how long its going to take for someone in authority to respond...

even a simple "feck off" would suffice....

It's a test for the newbies to see if they look around. The first forum should be an I AGREE "I will read the manual"

"We be bumpin` bumpin` bumpin` this thread... We gotta do sumpin` so it dont go dead..."

And just in case anyone forgot what its all about it is because a significant number o fus think having the Newbie section of this forum buried waaaay down the list of sections is self-defeating.

PUT IT WHERE NEWBIES are most likely to SEE IT!

I second the notion to move the Newbie Forum way to the top! Thus, noobs do not use as first preference posting in "Reaper general discussion forum".

What also initially confused me was the headlines on top of the sub-forum blocks: I thought the headlines described the sub-forums listed block-wise below them. Indeed, this is true for e.g. "Ninjam discussion" or "Other software discussion".
However, "Reaper non-english speaking user forums" is not the headline for the sub-forums listed below it in the sub-forum block on the main page. It is a link to a whole different set of sub-forums.
