Hmmmmm.. I've got a feeling the only way to do it will be to export each track individually then put them in reaper and start again with mixing and effects. I have Cubase elements 8, I didn't bother upgrading and I have loads of old projects. There is only one I'd like to keep so I might have to try this myself. You could probably find all the individual audio files and import them but you would have to do all the arranging again. I think it might be best to export each one as I said above. You can always cut them up into pieces again in reaper if they have long blank bits in them. either way, I think the trouble is worth it just to get them into reaper as its just so much better than Cubase. Maybe someone else will have a better way to do it.

If you had someone who had Cubase (not elements) that you could send your session files to who would export a 'selected track archive' (XML)for you then they could be converted to RPP by AATranslator - otherwise stems would be the way to go.

Done it! My odd project only had 8 tracks plus the drum track. The drum track is EZDrummer and had to be exported as a single midi file, then I only had to import it and put EZDrummer back. The audio tracks went in ok except that some of them have gone into the red. I can sort that out later. I don't know anyone else with Cubase but I'm sure Runaways method would be better for larger projects.
