Rendering incremental filenames even with unique region names

If I make an item and give it a named region, then copy that item and also copy the region name to the clipboard (lets say it's 'Sound_01') and paste it onto item 2 region but then edit the region name to read 'Sound_02'.. when I render these 2 regions it will make two files caled Sound_01..with the incremental suffix that should only happen when the region names are the same!
