Ah that sounds promising. It's not in the 200 folder so must be being pulled from standard res files, must remember to look there too. I'll check tomorrow, just jumped in bed. Cheers!

This is looking really good. I particularly like what you've done with the IO button and indicators. Nice!

I have just had a look at this.
It is a bit more complicated than you think...
For starters, that very short piece of dark line (I thought it was black but when I opened the image in Gimp it is a very dark grey colour) in the Master Mixer panel comes from the image,
meter_bg_mcp.png
and it is in the "200" folder.
But you can't just change that image to suit.
If you look at your normal Mixer tracks, there is a very thin 1px wide dark line to the left of each panel, just for the height of the meter section.
That also uses the meter_bg_mcp.png image, so anything you do to that image to suit the Master Mixer panel, it will affect the Mixer panel.
What you have to look at is the code in the rtconfig file. Something in the Master Mixer panel is masking the rest of that dark line. So you will have to experiment with some of the item positions in order to fix that masking.
Another thing I noticed in that screen shot is the line which represents the slot for the fader slider. At the top end the dark line fades out.
I opened up the associated image, mcp_master_volbg.png and found that the pink line to the right/top does not extend past the fader slot line. It stops short by about two pixels and therefore the line and its immediate background is stretched together and you get that fading effect.
Unless that is your artistic intention, in which case, ignore all that
But I thought I'd mention it because the fader slots in the normal Mixer tracks do not have that fading effect.
cheers

This theme looks absolutely amazing. I've been getting along with the default v6 theme all right so far, but I'll be switching to your theme the minute you get a version out for non-HiDPI displays.

Morning Andy
Managed to fix it by changing the mcp_master_vol_label image. Luck really, I tried a 'hunch', as such, and it worked. I don't really understand the yellow lines so it's mostly trail and error.
My studio internet connection is down ATM so I'm working on the install guide/post. I think it's ready for the HiDPI release.

Okay, all is good for now then
In the long run it would be nice to understand what is going on though haha!
I'm still scratching my head over the yellow lines implementation...
Good luck with the release.
I'm sure you have already covered this but make sure that it is clear that it will be a beta release. I am sure that once it enters the public domain there will be "issues" that need tweaking
cheers

Yeah, that's why I want to get it as close to finished as possible before release.
Fixed the fader BG lines btw, they're all sharp now, and perfectly centered. Also added border on right side of master mixer for those that have it on the left.

Someone said to me, on my last contract, "don't let perfect be the enemy of good."
I tend to strive for perfection, at least in some things I do, and I was being criticised for that.
I still struggle with that, to be honest, but what I am trying to say is, "get it out there and let the people rip it to bits!" haha

Those images are,
mcp_mainbg.png
and
mcp_mainbgsel.png
I think that they currently do not exist in your "200" folder but they are in the theme root folder.
They are currently small and scale-able solid colour images with no transparency and no pink/yellow lines.

I should elaborate...
Those images are used to colour the whole of the panel.
I tried an experiment, making the colour of the main image red, and it only colours the top part of the panel. The other elements, volume, volume label, meter etc. are drawn over the top. So only the very top of the panel was coloured red.
Currently, your mute, solo and io buttons are in an area coloured by those other elements.

Thanks. Added to 200 folder and tweaked with some pink scaling lines - just fixed a minor annoyance.
Appreciate your help!

This has been really fun to watch. And It developed so quickly! I like that you had a vision and stuck with it but at the same time asked for help, accepted input and the opinions of others.
Inspired me to get back to work on my own theme project...

Hi b0se, ou've probably noticed it already, but there's a tiny little glitch visible when the pan isn't centered. Like a tiny, tiny vertical line appears where the center circle meets the blended bar that extends from it.

Yes that's irritating, but there's nothing I can do it seems. The dot and the stack are the exact same colour, so there's no reason that line/shadow should be there, but there it is.
It's far more noticeable when I post 2x scale screenshots on this forum. On a retina/HiDPI screen you can't really see it. Feel free to investigate when the theme is released!

That is the "zeroline."
From the Theme images website:-
tcp_vol_zeroline AABBGGRR ; sets the ABGR value of the tcp's volume fader zero line. FFFF0000 would be solid blue, for example (v2.0+) -- note that this used to be documented incorrectly.
tcp_pan_zeroline AABBGGRR ; tcp pan fader zero line color (v2.0+)
tcp_width_zeroline AABBGGRR ; tcp width fader zero line color
mcp_vol_zeroline AABBGGRR ; mcp vol fader zero line color (v2.0+)
mcp_pan_zeroline AABBGGRR ; mcp pan fader zero line color (v2.0+)
mcp_width_zeroline AABBGGRR ; mcp width fader zero line color
trans_speed_zeroline AABBGGRR ; transport speed fader zero line color (v2.0+)
item_volknobfg AABBGGRR parm2 parm3 ; item volume knob, parm2 is zero-gain color, parm3 is pushed color
envcp_min_height 24 ; minimum envelope panel height
mcp_min_height 230 ; minimum mixer panel height
no_meter_reclbl 1 ; don't show tcp meter record-input label
gen_pan_zeroline AABBGGRR ; general pan fader zero line color
gen_vol_zeroline AABBGGRR ; general vol fader zero line color

Hmm, they only seem to be for sliders (dual pan mode or the main MCP fader zero line).
Nothing seems to change the lines on the TCP/MCP dials.

Ah, right... Interesting.
I was looking at this myself the other day but because I have a solid button the pan knob zero (or centre) line doesn't show anyway.
Which makes me think, is there something you could do with the the MCP Pan knob or knob stack?

The little zero dot and the stack are both completely opaque. It looks like the zero line is being drawn over the pan button.

Ah, but the knob stack has a flat end, it seems.
I just opened that knob stack in Gimp and put a few opaque lines on the other side of the centre line and that appears to do the trick.

I'm struggling with the folder thing.
I have done the images but I can't get my head around the code.
Line 1063 looks like this:-
Code:
set mcp.folder + + [0 bot_sec] [0 mcp.label{3}] folderstate<0 + + [mcp.size] [sidebar_sec{2}] * scale [-21 -2 21 22] * scale [0 -2 18 22]
The big difference between my simple theme and the V6 theme is that there are three different widths of mixer track. Normal, narrow and with a sidebar.
For each of those widths you have to deduce how wide the image is. But for the life of me I just cannot decipher the code.
I have attached the two images that I have "roughly" edited in Gimp.
I've got to nip out to the shops now so if you haven't sussed out the maths in that code by the time I get back I'll jump on this again.
cheers

Glad you guys got it sussed! Question: where it says "full mix" in that screenshot, how would that text look centered? I think it could look better, but maybe not because then it would go out of alignment with the text below it and create a new margin. Just figured I'd toss it out as a question in case you hadn't tried it centered. Same with in/out.

I was at the end of my tether.
I really do struggle with how bracketed values are calculated in WALTER and not just because of Polish notation.
However, I tried something. Something very random and for some reason it works.
My code is now looking like this:-
Code:
set folder_width * 0.5 mcp.size{0}
set mcp.folder + + [0 bot_sec] [0 mcp.label{3}] folderstate<0 + + [mcp.size] [sidebar_sec{2}] * scale [-21 -2 21 22] * scale [0 -2 folder_width 22]
I added a line to set a new variable, folder_width.
I felt the need to do the maths outside of the "set mcp.folder" line.
I then replaced the 18 value in the last square bracket with the folder_width variable.
The surprise came when I tried multiplying mpc.size{0} by 0.5
Why that works I have no idea. You would have thought that the folder width would be the same as the mcp.size width element, which is the first coordinate.
@b0se!
Try it your end and let me know how you get on.
cheers
andy

set mcp.folder + + [0 bot_sec] [0 mcp.label{3}] folderstate<0 + + [mcp.size] [sidebar_sec{2}] * scale [-21 -2 21 22] * scale [0 -2 folder_width 22]
@b0se!
Try it your end and let me know how you get on.
cheers

This theme is looking absolutely amazing! Can't wait to try it out. (I'll admit I've been checking in on this thread multiple times per day to see if it's been released )
