I think the transport just flows best here.
Plus this is the one I like best...hahaha!
And the toolbar buttons do look awesome now.
Again Great job...Cant wait for this!

Looking very good, man.
I just noticed that the MCP and TCP volume faders don't match - personally, I'd scrap the ones on the MCP and use the same style you've got for the rest of the faders in the theme.
Cheers.

This looks amazing. It is a shame that the transport bar doesn´t translate well on the MIDI editor : /
Well, as said, the original RADO transport design looks and works well.
ps: when I saw "REAPER 4" written on the Reaper window I thought "WOW! How come he already has it?!"

Hopefully soon... There are so many buttons that I haven't made that I will never ever use but I can't release it until it contains all that crap. For example the Record Arm button when a track is set to automatically arm when it is selected. The theme is totally usable and workable for me right now since I've replaced everything I'll ever see, but for other people it won't work until it's done.
I might just post it as is though and let whoever wants to finish off the extra stuff if they feel like it, I've lost most of my motivation to hammer away at this thing. It's really frustrating when everything you try looks like shit!

Fuck it here's what I have so far:
http://www.adamwathan.com/reaper/Cat...ReaperThemeZip
Tons of missing buttons, tons of colors that I haven't edited because I haven't come across them yet in my workflow, etc.
Have fun, edit whatever you like, post your own versions of things, finish buttons I didn't finish, etc. etc. etc.
I included 2 folders in the image folder containing the alternate transport as well as the flat toolbar buttons.
Again, it's not even close to done and is probably unusable for most people, but maybe this way it'll get done faster if some other people chip in. As it stands it is good enough for me so it's going to be slow progress from here anyways :/ I enjoy using Reaper much more than I enjoy driving myself crazy in Pixelmator!

Try 'right-clicking' the link, then 'save as'.

Right click > Save As, put it in your REAPER/Color Themes folder, then just select that theme in REAPER under Options>Themes.
It's not a text file, it's a .ReaperThemeZip file. Make sure it is saved as that on your hard drive, not Catalyst.ReaperThemeZip.txt. Right click the file>Get Info and make sure there is no .txt extension and that "Hide Extension" is unchecked.

2- I´m putting back the square border around the mixers labels (like on the original RADO).
3- Gonna make a better separator icon (RADO has a nice one but it is not the default)
4- Gonna make the missing custom buttons following the style of the main ones you´ve done (thanks EvilDragon for the kickass PSD file).
5- Extend a bit more the edge of this bar, it´s almost cutting the last bracket of [playing] and [stoped].
6- Fix this gap between the BPM panel.
7- Bring back the square automation button from RADO.
8- Not sure if I like the red stuff here. Maybe I´ll change it.
9- Maybe I will make this bar on the master bus like the normal tracks one. Not sure yet.
After all that I´m probably making a blue or red mods (instead of green).
Thanks again, you have a great taste for design.

That will be sweet!!

The black borders are gone on the mixer track labels because the labels are gone completely, the theme is only meant to really look nice with the pan controls on top

I finished my Catalyst mod called Blackdamp. It´s a mix of Catalyst, RADO, some stuff from the default Reaper theme (mostly media item related buttons) and some of my own (keyboard, toolbar buttons, global automation buttons, tons of little customizations and tweaks). It has all the 128 default toolbar buttons collection (thanks EvilDragon, the whole thing took me about 8 minutes to do with your PSD).
I did this for personal use, but can I share it on the stash? If so, how do I do in terms of credits? The vast majority of work on this theme is from Adam (Catalyst) and Nick Moritz (RADO), I don´t want to take any credit from it.
There´s also a version like the original Catalyst, for people who use pan on top of the track, want a bigger font and and don´t color the labels.
It´s also pretty easy to mix up with RADO files and make other mods (transport bar with buttons, glow on buttons, etc)

I'm sure original authors won't mind if you credit them instead. This is Reaper community, pretty much everyone is sensible and forgiving around here.

@EvilDragon:
Your PSD is missing one single button. I´ve made it for the sake of having the 128. You may want to add this to your PSD. It´s already black with transparent background, so it´s just paste the layer and apply the color overlay fx.
http://img227.**************/img227/2...lbarrevert.png
It´s called "toolbar_revert.png" and should be on the "main toolbar icons" folder.

I like this theme
If I may point something that jars my brain a bit though, and is proper anal, is the shadows indicate light coming from above the faders, but it looks like it's coming from the right on record and monitor button
Just trying to be helpful

Okay, I just got a new MacBook Pro. Still figuring key things out on it. I right clicked on the Catalyst theme and saved it on my disk, made sure the extension was unchecked, and I went to Go on the Finder, opened up the package contents of Reaper, and placed the zip file into the ColorThemes folder...still doesn't show up when I open Reaper? What did I do wrong?

How did you manage to have this track names background in the mixer? I try to copy this into my default, but I can't figure out how.

Is there any place I am able to download the catalyst theme (and/or variations on it)?
Thank you! It's my all time favorite theme! Stunning!

There's no track name background at all, it's part of the track panel image itself, sort of a hack.

Here's the link from the same page in the thread :P Hehe... It's not complete whatsoever, I don't even use this theme now and probably won't ever finish it... Sorry guys. Someone posted a modded version though called Blackdamp that is more complete.
