Default Metronome Global Settings?

Is there a way to set metronome globally (i.e., for all projects)? I use the metronome the same exact way every time but I'd like for Reaper to save my current settings. Is this possible?

Open a new project, set your desired global settings, then File -> Project Templates -> Save project as template (find your default).

SWS also has some metronome settings exposed, so you could set up custom toggles w/ cycle actions. It would be nice to just have Metronome presets, though.

Thank you! I didn't think about using a template.

Now that the metronome is getting some attention, I think a global metronome setting would be very beneficial. If coming from Cubase, you are used to having the high tone on beat one (BAAA). Changing this every single time you start a project is tedious. Templates are a workaround, but not ideal.

Reviving this. +1 Global metronome would be great as my project settings are being forgotten every few updates.
