Video Render Speeds
Hi all,
Does anyone have any links to resources (or guidance) on how to minimize the render time for videos in Reaper on Linux? I have been doing some experimenting and a comparable system running Windows seems to render video faster than I can achieve on Linux. (I feel kinda dirty for even saying that.) I am using Pop_OS 20.10, based on Ubuntu 20.10, so I have to use ffmpeg for rendering at the moment. I pulled the Nvidia enabled build of ffmpeg from snap but I didn't see any improvements. Anyway, any suggestions are welcome, my searches for a solution haven't resulted in any useful solutions yet. Thanks! Virgil |

I haven't compare render speeds between Windows and Linux.
Just curious have you tried to compare ffmpeg itself in terminal between Windows and Linux? Perhaps ffmpeg runs different in different platform. |

I have not tried that, but it is a good suggestion. I'm in the middle of a fairly demanding project so it will be a bit, but I will try this and report the results as soon as I'm free.
