Default stand up desks... anybody use them?

I'm thinking of switching to a stand up desk. Has anyone else done this? Is it viable for the long hours you can spend mixing?

Depends on your time schedule. If you can take a break every now end then to sit/lie down elsewhere/outside and relax, I'd actually prefer stand up desks.
Our bodies simply are not made for long sessions just sitting in the same spot and position. That's why your body gets tired pretty quickly when sitting down over long stretches of time. Your blood pressure and heart beat go down and your attention wanes.
Same applies for standing of course (especially for your knees), but much less so and it takes longer. Seeing as you'll be in the same spot/room and position when mixing, I don't see why trying out a stand up desk would be a bad thing.

Doesn't it just depend on how big the flightcase is that you plonk it on??

Default 3-drawers

I have long used a stand-up work surface for NON-typing work. I put a table across the tops of two 3-drawer filing cabinets (not easy to find!), and for drawing/cutting, I put a big square of window glass on the table. [But typing is still (for me) a sit-down job.]

Moving around all day (from job to job, from desk to desk and away from a desk) is good for the legs and back, however. NO desk or chair is good if you stay in it all day.

With Reaper, I find sitting is best, partly because I want to intermittently pick up a guitar and play it on my thigh.

Personally, I PREFER to work standing up. Your blood is moving and I can think a bit quicker as well. Not to mention it is healthier. The desk I use is a tall table on stands I bought at walmart. I believe they were made to put under a bed to store stuff underneath. The biggest thing to be ready for is your feet hurting at first. A good padded mat and a lil will power should take care of that.

3) a couple legs for the front that extend to the floor

4) guitar strap
