I've run into an annoying workflow issue.
When I'm working on a single monitor, I want Reaper's main UI and the MIDI editor to both be full screen. When setup like that, I can't toggle (ALT+TAB) between them. The MIDI editor is always on top of the Reaper window, even when unpinned. I must close the MIDI editor to get to the Reaper window, so I lose my working state.
For instance, say I'm doing multitrack MIDI editing. I've configured the Track List to show the subset of tracks I'm editing:
Now I need to briefly do something in the main Window, such as mute an audio track or adjust an envelope. If I close the MIDI editor, I lose my Track List configuration and have to repeat it. The alternative is to drag the MIDI window out of the way to access the Reaper window, then drag it back when I'm done.
I'd like one of the following to be true, in order of preference:
- The MIDI editor be a peer of the Reaper window, so I can ALT+TAB between them.
- A way to reopen the closed MIDI editor at its previous state.
- The MIDI editor have a minimize button.
