Default USB mic not being detected

Hi!

I've had several versions of Reaper over the years, and never had a problem with getting USB mics or MIDI discovered on my computer. I recently got a new 2017 MacBook Pro. I've had tried multiple times with multiple installs to get audio out of my Rode NT-USB in the program. It shows as an input I can use, but I'm getting no sound or meter reading. I hope I'm overlooking something simple, I love this program.

Thanks in advance!

For what it's worth, I've seen a number of posts on the forum about microphones on Mac's and in most cases it had something to do with a microphone privacy setting in the Mac OS.

Not a Mac guy so I can't say for sure where that setting is, but if you search the forum, there have been a number of posts on the subject.

If you can't find anything by searching, someone will jump on here and give you more specifics.

Good luck.

Fellow Okie here, grew up in Midwest City, my daughter lives in OKC and one of my brothers just moved back earlier this year, lives in Choctaw.

You're a genius man, that was exactly it! I'd have never thought to ;look for that in a million years.
OKC has really become a great city with Bricktown and everything going on downtown. I like Tulsa but were kind of the ugly step-child.

Glad that worked.

Haven't been back to OKC in years, but I agree, that Bricktown renovation was pretty cool.

I lived in Tulsa for a few years back in the late 80's. Back then Tulsa was the sophisticated city and OKC was cow town.
