To project folder you mean? What are advantages of this? Item source is still linked to file outside project folder.

If you do this in project bay, they refresh the source and set them to current project folder

Yes.. I am currently doing it in project bay.. but when I want to do that I have to open project bay each time.. so it will be much easier to just select the item in the timeline and run an action with a shortcut and it will do the job!! This will be very helpful. I run a lot of files linked(not actually copied in the project audio folder ) from a Dell server . And some files I want to copy to project audio folder .. so when I have this situation.. I go to project bay and do it. But it will be very helpful if this can be done with an action.

It's so complicated, for me. It is easy to do it in Project Bay. But in script, you need to check the file if it has already in the project, or it has a duplicated name but it is totally a new file, etc. There are so many situation to consider.

I use it all the time in the Project Bay and wouldn't mind having it as an action too. I would probably add it to the right-click menu for items.

Something like export project to new project folder and ability/option to import all external files would be awesome!
