Twilight (for NaviarHaiku 290) [drone + sequence]

Not sure if anyone is into this sort of stuff here... Keeping my fingers crossed

I recently upgraded my Hive VSTi from V1 to V2 and I wanted to have a play.

This is very much a drone piece, I will say that right now, so appeal will be limited. Unlike a lot of my drones, though, I have added a couple of sequences to it, giving it a sort of Berlin School feel.

Altogether there are six instances of Hive on Drone duty, two sequences and one creating an intermittent glitchy sequence here and there.

For the sequences I am using Hive's built in sequencer, which is not my thing, usually. But I wanted to try using automation in REAPER to alter the number steps of each sequence rather than creating sequence variations myself.

This piece is ten minutes long so not quite so long as a typical Tangerine Dream piece but still a bit long for Peeps that may not be used to this kind of thing.

I love the "night of the electrical transformer overtones" kind of synth patches. Altough makes me think more of interstellar space than birds and dusks, pretty dark and void-y.

Yes, I agree, I haven't done a great job of interpreting the actual words of the Haiku. This is something I'm not that good at, to be brutally honest with myself.Sometimes I get it, most times I do not.

Really cool haiku thing you have going there.

It is a weekly "challenge" set up by a net label called Naviar Records. I generally like the community feel of that, rather than the challenge itself, mainly because, as I explained above, I do not convert the words to sounds that well.
