Default req: BPM box / sync clips with BPM

Hello!

I recently started working with a lot of loops,
and I discovered that in Ableton there is a BPM box
this stretch loop to match the tempo

for example:
- if the main bpm is 80 and clip bpm is 160 then the clip will be 2x shorter
- if main bpm is 100, and clip is 130bpm, clip will be 30% shorter

this could be in F2 to write it manually
(media item properties box)

Have you ever read User guide? http://reaper.fm/userguide.php
First of all, read it and then create FRs.
This is already here. View->Media explorer, then change Tempo match off to Tempo match on and insert the file to the project.

Use "Script: Viente_X-Raym_BPM Converter.lua"

"We"? I don't need it. I drop media files out of my ME in Reaper and it synchronizes tempo without problem. Don't you love Reaper?

Well, your workflow is ok as long as you work with pre-recorded loops.

But yesterday i recorded a multitrack session with no given tempo to set in Reaper. Now, i have 6 audio files which are each 4 minutes long, and i know the tempo is around 96 and 97BPM, but i'm getting a hard time syncing Reaper to them (and not the other way around).

So yes "I love Reaper", but enjoying a DAW doesn't mean we can not ask for improvements

#bpm widget in ReaPack/mpl_InteractiveToolbar allows to tap tempo while playing without changing anything, then apply calculated tempo to project or dump related data (delay times, LFO rates).

Thank you, MPL. I have to try it.
... But i still think there is room for improvement in the way Reaper can handle tempo matching, synchronization, etc

ok, I found the solution:

1) remember actual bpm
2) type clip bpm in the transport bar
3) type the previous bpm
4) its sync!

I think that's the same effect as when you drag and drop your audio file out of the ME into the project. The media file gets automatically synced to the project BPM. That's the way I work and never had a problem.
