Default Restoring Reaper

Hi Guys,
I guess this is a really basic question to ask, but I'd prefer to do so, rather than screw everything up.

A while back my laptop with my working version of Reaper crashed and I lost the lot. I think I do have a backup of some settings and personalizations etc, that I had made, on a portable hard drive.

What I'd like to know is how to register the free trial version that I've just downloaded, (after installing a new HDD in the laptop). Would that information be contained in the Reaper.ini file that I'm sure I have somewhere?

Also, I seem to recall that your license of registration is not indefinite, so how would I determine if I can still register this current download and future updates?

Sorry for questions that may be blatantly obvious, but I just want a trouble free install if that's possible.

Cheers Ron

Okay, you need to find a file called reaper-license.rk. This would have originally came in an email when you purchased Reaper and after registering the license in Reaper it would have been located either in the Reaper program folder (where the Reaper.exe file is located) or in the Reaper 'data' folder in the Reaper 'AppData' folder.

A Reaper license is good for two full versions... so if you bought your license in Reaper 3, you need a new license. If you bought your license in Reaper 4 then you're good till Reaper 6, which is quite a ways off as Reaper 5 was just released.

Good luck!

Maybe not, if you can't find your license... send your info to: support [at] cockos.com (remove brackets, spaces, and change at to @).
