Yo, this is really looking very very nice. Like someone mentioned, FL studio's workflow is pretty bizarre, but visually beautiful. Combining the beauty with Reaper is really next level stuff!

Cool! I used FL for years as well. I switched to Reaper because I was transitioning into more acoustic recording. FL is (was?) really bad at recording.

Thanks a bunch krahosk! I've been testing it a little. It works well for me. Takes a bit of getting used to having the IO-button at the far left, and the mute button not being an "M".

Thanks Lucas!

Been out of town the last few days, so the theme has had no changes. Here's a screenshot of how it looks right now anyway.

I work exclusively in the TCP, arrange and the MIDI editor.

Fixed up the TCP master track a bit, and added some definition to the leftmost area of the TCP tracks. It was quite difficult to see how tracks were nested.

Strange that the font "Share" doesnt seems to work in Linux. I tried for track label but no change. Is there a different between ttf and otf?

There are differences between the formats I'm sure, but both should work, as far as I know.

I might upload it soon. I want to fix any glaring mistakes first. Lately I've been using it more than I have been working on it. Works fairly well for my use.

Great idea! Thanks for sharing, in future.
Which FL Studio version would be best, meaning smallest, if you want to use it only as a sampler inside reaper, meaning getting those 16 stereo outs as vsti, and fl studio easy drag and drop feature of samples? Any tips?
How much control can we have to those sample playbacks via midi cc from outside, meaning from reaper. My idea would be using hackey trackey for sequencing the notes, mainly for drums and bass, and having as much control on the sample playback, the better it would be.

If ReaSamplomatic would support 8 or 16 stereo outs, this would not much be necessary, but it does not.

Why only the vibe, you can use both together, load fl studio as vsti inside reaper and get 16 stereo outputs. I would use it mainly as a sampler inside reaper, as there is nothing better, reasamplomatic has only 1 stereo out, not 16 like fl studio.

Nothing against Mordi's and other developers release decisions, but best style would be reaper style, just throwing out whatever you have now, if you have something better, throw out that, ... more testing, more feedback, more fun, unless you do not like this style because of some reasons.

Thanks again AndreiT.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should name it? So far, I've been going with "FLusion", since it's based on Fusion by arsen. However, now it has basically no trace of Fusion.

FLeaper ? )

If you search the Resources by this string:
tag:Themes PT
— there will be PT (Pro Tools) themes in the results.

Likewise,
tag:Themes FL
string should bring up FL (Fruity Loops) themes, I think...

And both FLusion and FLeaper qualify )

Wow i was waiting for someone to do this properly, i love FL colors, great job and looking forward!!

BTW the colors look identical, and maybe you know that from before but a friend of mine lately showed to me a way to get the exact same colors from any source inside photoshop with a tool. I think it's also possible with the free GIMP.

"Fruity"

Hence: "Fruity Loops", the old name for FL Studio.

Smallest doesnt mean much here, theres a fl studio plugin dll that Reaper would use, its like 15mb. Its only a bridge to the real fl studio program which can be anywhere on your disk. Fl studio path and all settings are stored in the registry. If you wanna trim the fl studio folder down, you can get rid of all of the samples, and all of the plugins, it will be very small (still bigger than Reaper :-)) and still work. I would go with the latest version, mainly for the vector/resizable ui, and workflow enhancements.

This skin is a marvel, thanks Mordi !!!!

I'd call this theme "ReaFLEX"

You know, FL has a new synthesizer released, which is called Flex, so that would fit perfectly.

Here another name suggestion: RL Studio
+ : similarity to FL Studio is recognizable, for those who know FL Studio already
+ : F is replaced with R(eaper), minimal change
+ : L gets a new meaning L(onglive)
giving all together its meaning: Reaper Longlive Studio!

Thanks Vagelis!

At the moment I'm taking screenshots directly and importing them into Affinity Designer. I'm running FL on a different machine, but otherwise I think AD can also color pick directly from the screen buffer.

Changed the font on the item labels and the envelopes. Changed the item background images to match FL20 better (the label background turns red). Fixed the envelope label background. Changed the envelope and master track TCP backgrounds.

I've made several tracks with this now. I've gotten used to the mute button more or less, so it's definitely doable.

Looks Great !! Few things that i like in FL related to the items are: When the track is zoomed to the minimum height, the peaks are hidden and we can see only the label line, which is great and easier to work with at minimum zoom height.
e.g if we split an item, it would show up as "small boxes" (label line), then we could loop them ( like painting in FL) and edit them as we would do with a step sequencer..
So what i want to say better in the end is, that you have to deal with small boxes and not waveforms when the zoom is at the minimum height, which is useful for music that has to deal with loops-electronic music.

The next thing that i like is, in FL each item has icons that show if the item is audio or midi. Again very useful especially when the track is zoomed at minimum height.
Do you think that it would be possible to have both of these options in this theme? It would be really great Thanks!

In my experience, content doesn't get in the way of item names. An insufficient length of the items does.
Content or no content, you can easily see the item name all the same if the box "Draw labels over solid background for easier reading" is checked (in Preferences - Appearance - Media).
Anyway, it's just a matter of one checkbox — "Draw labels above the item, rather than within the item". If I'm not mistaken.

That's interesting.
Funny though, the above-mentioned content, when not hidden, helps here.
It shows if the item contains audio or MIDI.

Hi AugerJ! Thanks I'm aware of these options but still it's not the same with FL. Here are some pics that show the midi notes or waveform that get transparent when the label font is shown.

First image shows the icons and the next image the transparency.

While in Reaper:

I don't know if this is possible to do with theming, but I thought about it when i saw the label fonts that Mordi added on the items.
