Default Switch Hitter - wip - foxestail

The riff is from forum member "foxestail" he sent it to me a good while back, along with lyrics. I took liberties with the lyrics, changed around and wrote some new trying tio keep the original theme. Tweaked foxestail's rythm tracks a touch then added drums, bass, lead guitar and the vocals. Still a work in progress any thoughts, tips, whatever appreciated.

YES!

Love that intro! Great chorus! Whole song has a great retro-vibe.. A ton of different influences.

Guitar leads very reminiscent of Mr. Downing and Tipton!

Could easily see this one rocking thousands at the next Rocking RIO..

Great job guys!

Cool track! I like the lyrics, and the guitar solos are excellent. Opening intro is quite cool too. Good energy to this one.. very catchy.

Re: mix.. I hesitate to give any mixing advice, cause I tend to listen to this stuff at work on headphones that aren't the best for judging... and that's where I'm listening to this right now. I will say that the 2nd mix sounded the clearest to me. I'm going to have to listen to this at home on monitors though for a real critique. I'm not hearing the high hats/cymbals very clearly in most of either mix, but that could be the fault of what I'm listening on. The "new final" mix sounded a little boomy compared to the 2nd mix, but again.. take that with a grain of salt.. I need to listen on better speakers/headphones to really judge.

At any rate, this is a real cool track and deserves a nice mix/master, so hopefully you get some good advice here and get this right (if it isn't already)!

Still rocking good.
I second I liked mix#2 the best of the lot. I did like that #3 had a better low end, but maybe a little too much?
I think you could get more clarity and instrument distinction if you roll off just a touch of the highs with a low pass--just a touch. The song's not too trebly, but the super high end can build up just like the super lows. Hardware does this naturally, but with modern digital mixing you lose nothing, so you have to manually compensate a little.
