Default Viewing master project video while working in subprojects

Hi

I'm new to reaper, and I'm designing the sound for a cinematic to get my feet wet. It seems like using subprojects would be a fantastic way to keep my main project organized, but one thing in particular is bugging me.

Is there a simple way to view the main video track while I'm working in a subproject?

I suppose I could do the sound design in the main project and only create a subproject once I'm done, but I'd love to be able to work on the sync (especially for long, intricate sounds) inside the subproject.

Maybe I'm just being a bit picky but for the way I'd like to work, it would be really helpful. It's possible I'm just using subprojects incorrectly though.

Oh also, if I copied the video to each new subproject, would it be duplicating the actual media or would it just be referencing the video in the main project?

Thanks in advance
