Differences between the 32 & 64bit versions ?
Hello
I was wondering : is there any difference between Reaper 32bit and Reaper 64bit ?
For instance, i had it installed on a 64bit machine, then installed new plugins, and didn't see any "new" category in the plugin browser...
Are there any significant difference ?

The "new" category only pops up when a plugin is scanned for the first time.
The difference between 64 and 32 is that 32 is only capable of using 2G of RAM, whereas the 64 can use all available RAM.

Yes, i am well aware about that, sorry if i wasn't clear.
A couple of times, i updated some plugins, and, when i do this on my 32bit system, Reaper list them as "new". On the 64bit computer, there is no such thing.
I have very few plugins on this 64bit machine, as i don't use it much for music, but i updated tx16w2, acon verberate and bluearp, and none of them got listed as "new"...

No, the aforementionned plugins are all 64bit :P
(nevermind, it is not a big deal), but since i am running a rather old 32bit computer, and as i will be switching to 64bit at some point, i was wondering if some things were different, if some behaviour/features/workflow differences were to be expected ?

Running 64-bit software will not work on a 32-bit machine, your computer may be old but it still must be 64-bit.
Do you mean you have 32-bit Windows?
There is a big difference between 64-bit hardware and 64-bit software.

Yes i know, i think i was very unclear, sorry for that.
TO make it clear, i am talking about running the 32bit Reaper on a 32bit computer using 32bit plugin, and running the 64bit Reaper on a 64bit computer using 64bit plugin...
I guess the answer to my original question is that there is not difference at all between the 32bit and 64bit.

only really its ability to use more RAM (I thought it 32 could 4gig not 2 as swamp ape said)
and the maybee your signal path will be 64bit all the way but would have to test

I knew there had some other differences (i couldn't remember which ones) :
for instance, Dirac is not available as time stretch algo on the 64bit version : http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...3&postcount=21
