Default Oscilloscope (or similar) in video processor?

Does anyone know if it's possible to generate an oscilloscope (or some kind of audio visualisation) as a video track using the video processor?

Not in realtime yet but I think we can now build vst plugins for reaper video but I don't think no one has done that yet.

You could though screen capture one of the JS fx oscilloscopes we have in reaper already and then put it back into reaper as a normal video in sync with what it was recording in the first place.

Yeah, I tried that, but my macbook isn't powerful enough to do that with a decent framerate.

have you tried "licecap" by the same guys who make reaper

It might be low enough on the CPU maybe..

You can find it's forum thread and download link by going right back to the "cockos confederated forums" area and it's near the bottom.

I hadn't thought about that.

I just tried it and I only got around 5fps, but that was with a full project and other programs running.

My last idea then would be to bounce the whole project down first before sending it to the oscilloscope.

You should look into using a few "subprojects" in your projects which will basically turn say all your drums into a single stereo wav version without any cpu being taken from it.

This can be very useful on a laptop.

Read up on them and uses in the manual.
