I voted keep the skinning. I don't think there's any evidence to suggest that a "permanent" skin would improve performance one bit.

Default me like em' skins. ugh!

Personally, I like that little bit of expression I have for a session or vocal take edits (pain).

● Should I keep it functional with 'Vixi Plain'
● or go for a slightly future look with with 'Vixi Be Light'.
● Maybe I'm feeling techy and dark and want a bit of 'Dark Side'
● Go with the clarity and cool name of 'Axiom Green'
● Be smooth with 'Younsoft' or 'Reapercussions'
● or totally trip out a client with 'Monokrome' or 'Dark Big Wood' (name says it all really).

You get the idea, these little things keep me entertained... and I have an 3.6ghz overclocked quad core so it's not really an issue

I TOTALLY do not want to be confined to a default skin. I've had years of that with other DAWs. I love the fact that I can download skins, mix and match, even customize existing ones for button size, color, etc. I know its a total geek thing, but it's one of the reasons I love Reaper.

Same here.

Themes need to stay put.
