Hi timboz
I found it very nice, really good mix. If I was your customer I would say:

For constructive criticism:
1. At 2:33 kicks seems louders than ever, there are 3 or 4 shots louder. It needs some dynamic control or you need to check again you volumen automation. At 1:23, 1:27 and 1:32 happened again.
2. I think vocals needs some de-essing, just a little more. Some "s" are too prominents in some instance of the song. Some manual volumen cut in those "Ss" might help too. I'm refering at 2:25 to 2:30 specifically.
3. I feel songs needs more width. Maybe working in the tone of the side guitars would help. Some mid-side processing of them cutting some mid frequencies in the centers should help to clean some mud in the middle.
4. If point 3 don't help, try cutting some frequencies around 250-350hz in the bass. I feel there is too much build up in that zone right in the center.
5. Maybe you might want to try to enhance some depth using more reverbs or delays in the chorus of the song or in the break at 3:05.
6. Harmony vocals might benefit with some doubler or chorus fx to bring them to the sides a little more and achive some width with them too.
7. Overhall tone is good but maybe a little high shelf in between 8k to 10k with an SSL EQ or a nice eq plugin with transparent high boost in the master buss would help to get more clarity. Maybe you want to fix this at this stage or maybe you want your master engineer to fix it. It could be a soundcloud problem conversion too, I think they compress at 128kbps their mp3s, so they kill some quality.
8. This is subjetive but maybe a snare sample would help to get some nice metal snare tone. Is sooooo common in metal to enhance kick and snare with samples and my ear is so familiarized with metal kick and snares that your snare seems out of genre at first impression. But as I said, this is subjetive. Sample should help to be consistent in those hits, because sometimes some snare shots get lost as happened at 0:49 for example.

Good things for me:
1. Overhall balance seems very good.
2. Great tom sound.
3. You get nice kick tone for this metal
4. Overhall I feel all glue together.
5. Almost everything is clear for me
6. Overhall nice mix tone.

Please don't take my words as absolutive truth, they are just my impressions. Hope this would help dude.
Greetings.

Just got done making a lot of changes to the mix.

https://soundcloud.com/timboz

Thanks, Juanra-Ortiz for all the suggestions.

I resampled the kick. Used the same sample file using Jonas DrumReplacer bus tweaked the settings. (I think it still needs a bit of work)
Still using original kick for low end and sample for the click.

Also decided to use a snare sample to enhance the snare.

Changed reverbs on guitar and put a compressor on the guitar bus.
Also cut some mids of the guitars that were not hard panned.

Cut a tad from the bass at around 300hz.

Lots of work on the vocals. De-essing and automation.

The only thing on the master buss it a limiter.

Please let me know if I am going in the right direction.

Just listened to it with some fresh ears.
I think I have to bring the drum overheads and or room mic down a bit. Also lower some vocals at 1:22 .

The main thing that jumps out at me as needing work are the clean vocals. I don't know if it's the EQ or reverb or what, but it sounds way more in front of everything else. Like, not in a way you probably want, but like you're standing in a room listening to the singer while the other instruments are playing through a stereo. The lead guitar also sounds a little muddy.

I like the song, though. I don't usually go for this type of stuff (except for that damn The Bunny the Bear song "Aisle" that always gets stuck in my head.) This is good, though!

Thanks, VikingGuitar

I listened again with fresh ears and I understand what you are talking about with the vocals. I think I am gonna pull them back a bit and try a different reverb on them.
Not sure what to do with the guitars yet. I did use Rescue MK2 on the guitar bus, So I might play around with the settings on that and mess around with some eq.

Just made some changes and uploaded a new mix.
