Default Set MIDI notes to same length (SOLVED)

Is there a quick way to set a bunch of various length Midi notes to say 1/16 note length.
Unless I'm missing something the "quantize length (shrink/grow)" function in the quantize menu doesn't work here, because it always shifts to the nearest set grid value (and not absolute note length).

Also another similar question:
Is there a quicker way to draw say a bar of 16th notes without clicking every note in with the mouse (aka pencil tool).

1) select all the notes and open the notes properties (rightclick menue) and locate the length field. Type 1/16 and hit enter.

2) select a grid of 1/16. Tick 'use F1-F12 as step sequencer'. Place the edit cursor where you want to start inserting notes and click on the note you want on the piano keyboard on the left. Now start hitting F1.

F1 will insert the note specified by clicking on the piano keyboard at the edit cursor and move the cursor a grid length. F2 to F12 will insert the higher neighbour notes.

how does that work today? right clicking on a single or multiple midi note just allows me to open "event properties". The length info is missing there?

edit: ok, you just have to select "note" there sorry
