Default ReaEQ adjust dB per oct on HPF and LPF

How about making it posslible to control the steapness (dB per octave) in ReaEQ's filters? Idea: To avoid adding more controls to bands, maybe the gain control can be used for this, since it does nothing in HPF and LPF now.

Stacking filters at the same exact frequency steepens slopes.

But that is messy and difficult to edit. You have to adjust four bands for a 24db filter. You can link them now in parameter modulation but that too takes time.

OP's suggestion makes sense, replace gain slider in that instance with Slope.

True. I gave up on reaeq because of that very reason. Automating was taking soooo long. I was just introducing a temporary fix of course.

While we're at it. I would LOVE to be able to double-click to create new bands. Anyone else?

Different filter shapes would also be nice. I suggested this a while back to roll apple filter (the plugin) into reaeq. OH, and while they're at it, oversampling too please.

Good call, but 18dB? Isnt that going to work out a little extreme?

depends what you're doing, I use up to 48dB for sidechaining and band-splitting.

I hope this is only meant as a suggestion for a workaround.

It depends what you're doing. I often use filter slopes of 24dB or more. Great for removing vocal plosives without pulling out the low end character.

24dB per octave is common when filtering synth sounds too and for foley work on movie tracks.
