Great theme!

In the narrow MCP buttons, it's difficult to see which is active by color alone (they are small).

How about adding a border/outline to the active elements?

And also making the inactive buttons fainter (darker) to make the theme look a little bit cleaner.

Thanks

EDIT: something like so... (only did 1st mixer strip)

Oh, I think quite a few people are keeping an eye on this thread. He has really come up with, and implemented, a really nice theme here.

I started it this morning and believe it or not, it's almost done. I'm going to be away for a few days. I'm going to enjoy these days with the family, away from the computer. See you in a few days.

Love both these designs, especially the second - very clear and concise and it looks like it will scale and repeat well. Great job!

Have fun wherever it is you're going!

I could only wish for the solo buttons to go red when ON but I suppose that is easy to just re-color the png file myself..

Looking quite clean... nice work

Looks nice apart from the "Reaper X1" bit.......it's REAPER 4 people.......it's an acronym so needs full caps, and ripping off the GUI design and the name of another app is tacky imo........also I don't see the point in having that stated on every track, as anyone with even a trickle of gorm about them already knows what software they're using! Take it off, save space, reduce unnecessary visual clutter, avoid too much rippage...

yes I'm a selectively hypocritical pedant, even during the holidays

apart from that, all of the button on states are a bit gaudy in context, and it's looking rather sexy...for a GUI that is

I give the Cakewalk guys much of the credit and Jhrv a big thumbs up and I wish I was that good at making .pngs

I'm not trying to do something original here. This is not going to be the R4 default theme. I like the Sonar X1 looks, so, why not? (I'm not copying and pasting images, btw)

The "Reaper X1" thing, I think you're right, but don't take it too seriously.

I too find it amusing when the most sensible and cohesive looking themes are virtually direct rips from other DAW UI's - it indicates a very serious issue with how the REAPER UI is being constructed at the moment.

[QUOTE=pixeltarian;645368]or you could make the indicator bump out a little like you'd see on an api or chickenhead knob. I wouldn't go for a chickenhead look exactly but maybe just a little protruding triangle.

Unless something very radical has changed with how reaper handles 'knobs'... I don't think we can do knobs like that.... reason is that what you 'see' rotating is just a line... the 'knob' part is just a static circle in a png...

I wish it was not so, but I know in all the knobs for V3 that is how the png's work.

Same! This new version looks way better than the other one. Forgive me for sounding dense but what is the 100% wet knob for?
