Is this a bug or by design?

When using "Insert into sample player -> reuse active sample player" the loop selection doesn't reset if you have changed the looping points previously. You also cannot import a different selection from the same file as "reuse active sample player" as nothing gets inserted to ReaSamplOmatic5000.

By the way on 6.15 version I got random CTD crashes when just open FX Browser or insert some plugins from fx browser not "Melda".Unfortunately, I cannot repeat this. It is unstable.System Windows 10 pro.

I just tried a FLAC file in media explorer. it doesn't seem to read any metadata.

here is a FLAC sample file that has metadata embedded in that. Soundminer can read metadata from fields like BWFDescription, category, Sub category , library , manufacturer fields. But the same file doesn't show any metadata in media explorer. Can the developers pls take a look at this ?

Thanks for linking to the file. The issue is that Soundminer embeds metadata in an encrypted, proprietary format that other applications can't read. I think Soundminer can also embed some metadata in standard, open formats, but this particular file only contains encrypted metadata.

This keep coming up and I think it will come up a lot more once this release is public, so maybe we'll add a note in the source media properties dialog when a file contains proprietary metadata that REAPER can't read.

What about:

- shortcuts being non-expandable
- "My Computer" (disks browser) be expandable
- shortcuts have an option to "Locate folder" which would find the particular folder within "My computer" expandable tree

Reasons:
- much much more conventional
- if I want to have access to the entire subtree, I create a database
- browser ("My computer") should be browsable
- reduced clutter

Thx for the clarification. I just contacted the sound miner developer. He got back to me saying that he is happy to support ixml user chunk provided reaper supports reading that in media explorer . Can you pls clarify if reaper can already do that ? Or is that planned on your road map ?

Yes, this release supports IXML and XMP metadata (and VORBIS tags) in FLAC files. The Soundminer developer has reached out to us about this too.

Which action isn't working the way you expect? There are 3 "File: Delete" actions (trash bin, trash bin no confirm, no trash bin no confirm).

Thanks Schwa, I tried all 3 actions and none of them move the files into the trash on the OS.

How are you running the actions? Built-in menu, custom menu, action list, custom shortcut?

from the action list. I see it the file disappear in the Media Explorer, though when I go to that location in Finder, it's still there.

On a side note, I do use an alternate finder called PathFinder, though I closed that app and just ran regular finder with the same behaviour.

Ah, just checking now, it seems that that hard drive has some permission issues and will only delete files, not send them to trash. So it appears it's probably an issue on my end with drive permissions
