Shows up as Enabled in Preferences. Passing MIDI as shown in Arturia's MIDI Control Center. But doesn't show up as an input device when right-clicking the record button.

Any ideas? Tried just about everything I can think of. M-Audio Keystation was tested and working on the exact same USB port.

Also another curious thing: I can't "Forget this device" in the preferences. I can only enable or disable it.

Last-ditch attempt seems to have fixed it. The only sequence of events that worked was:

1. Open the MIDI device preferences

2. Unplug the Minilab with the preferences open

3. Rescan MIDI devices (so that it becomes listed as !!NA Disabled)

4. Plug it back in and rescan MIDI devices again

It now shows up as a track input device, finally. Makes no sense, but whatever.

Do you leave the Arturia MCC program open while Reaper is? That's usually the culprit. Oddly, Reaper has strange MIDI device behavior... sometimes things will be connected, but on the track, you can't select it as a device. Most of the time it's because another program is open that is "seeing" it (like Arturia's MCC).

Hope that helps

I found that with my Mini Keylab MKII (and later MKII Keylab 61) I had to go into Preferences | MIDI Devices and then make sure the device and the MIDI "ID" listed is sequential.

Example in attached image:

MIDI Inputs
KeyLab mkII 61 Enabled+Control ID=0
MIDIIN2 (Keylab mkii 61) <disabled> ID=1

MIDI Outputs:
KeyLab mkII 61 <disabled> ID=0
MIDIIN2 (Keylab mkii 61) <disabled> ID=1

I don't know why this matters but I've made this change a few times and it has worked. (Maddening issue! Took forever to find a solution.)

I'd love to know *why* this works, though!

Yeah, I'm going to guess that's the problem. You can't have the MiniLab MIDI driver connected to two applications at the same time (Arturia MCC and Reaper). If you open Reaper first and then MCC, MCC will warn you that it can't connect to the device. If you open MCC first and then Reaper, Reaper doesn't warn you about the problem.

Instead of unplugging the USB, you can close the Arturia MCC and run the action "Reset all MIDI devices." I have that action assigned to a shortcut key, so that it's easy to run.

i have a minilab mk2 enroute to me, just picked up a second hand one.
im curious about your issue...and wondered if you had previously used it with the drivenbymoss scripts??
becos if you dont untie the device inside preferences under control/osc/web it sort of locks down the device..
it just something that one can easily overlook
