Default Performance Meter on main screen?

i know it's dockable and floatable now, but how 'bout something simple that lives on the main screen?
perhaps just the reaper master CPU usage indicator somewhere so you quickly know if you are getting into trouble. would be very handy on a laptop.

might look something like one of these?

red exclamation point (or some other indicator) could be user configured to light up as a warning when ever you sustain a usage of X percent or more.

any thoughts?

Yes....just a little thermometer strip....doesn't even need a readout, just the visual to let you know when things are starting to heat up.

Yup, very good idea actually. I have several HDD's in my PC, so I don't really care about the Disk Usage or Network CPU-load.
Just a quick 'n dirty, simple indicator of sorts.

"BMem" which someone here suggested works well.

What also might be nice is an optional per-track cpu display in the mixer. Just a simple little "42%" right above the record arm light, for example.

re perf meter.
like we have led's for audio/tracks....use led for performance...
(dont like it currently)....
each track plus master in mixer needs just a "line" or a little box showing......eg....per cent processor useage etc.
i want something where i can see any track/plug thats misbehaving.....
EVEN BETTER.....near the transport somewhere a warning message is displayed in a box ....hey fella...track number 26 is getting kinda winky on resource useage. ....or such like.
and in prefs you can set at what percent the warning appears....
ie...do it by exception showing the tracks that i should be concerned about sorta thing.....
