The HomePage is Geoffs page, you should remove it.

Then add your own page give it a name etc.

select the page and add surfaces by clicking "Add Midi" button at the bottom of the righthand window. This should open a dialog wherein your surfaces should be shown.

You have to double click the page, then CSI shows its existing surfaces.

If your surfaces are properly installed and recognized they should be found under Preferences/Audio/Midi Devices/ and they should be labeled as disabled in both Midi input and output windows.

By the way, I´m on windows 10 and I have no experience with the Mac install.
Wavetrans,
Thanks for the input!
Sadly, I have done exactly as you describe, but whatever surfaces I configure in the right hand panel DO NOT remain. I click OK (which returns me to the Prefs/Control Surfaces window, and then immediately click on the CSI surface I've just created, and Edit, and when the CSI settings window opens, there's nothing in the right hand panel. The settings just will not persist, and I don't understand why.
I'm on Windows 10 Home 64 bit.

I removed my existing CSI control surface from Prefs/Controllers.
I then follow the instructions on the github link.
Everything went to plan until step 10. I do NOT see a list of controllers on the right hand side.
On the left hand side, I see a page called "HomePage".
If I manually add a MIDI surface on the right hand side, it once again refuses to stick.
I followed all the remaining steps, including running the CSI Edit Mode from the Reaper action list.
All faders on my (original, MIDI version) Mackie Control Universal are at 50% position (not unity, but somewhere around -10).
If I move them, they jump back tp their original position. Nothing displayed on the screen either.
Also, ReaScript window does NOT display upon any kindd of user input (fader move, button press, etc).
Am I missing any steps in setup?
Thanks in advance!
Check out poetnprophits how to install and setup CSI video. It helped me out alot. I believe thers a link for it on thr wiki manual page

Thanks, I'll go hunting. Hopefully, it's not the video I've already seen!

Yep, it was. And unfortunately, I had already watched it.
I'm certain I've done everything according to the instructions, but the "surface" settings just will not stick.

Are you using windows ? Did you update cc runtime ? That happened to me when i was setting up and nothing would stick

3. Click "Assign Sel Y" on the Eucon while still holding F1

Result: the VCA track gets selected but doesn't actually spill. Thanks as always for your help! I'll get this documented once I figure it out.
OK, good progress.

Seems like Alt is not engaging, try changing this:

Code:
	Select| TrackUniqueSelect

	Control+Select| TrackSelect
	Shift+Control+Select|	TogglePin
	Alt+Select| TrackToggleVCASpill

	Shift+Select| TrackRangeSelect
	Control+Select| TrackSelect
	Shift+Control+Select|	TogglePin
//	Alt+Select|		TrackToggleVCASpill
to determine if Alt is the issue.

Default MCU universal

HI - not posted for a while as this issue continued and I can't get to the bottom of it. Loads of other features i have addedto my zon but the jog wheel is too important to me so had to go back to the internal MCU setup that comes with reaper for now. (jog wheel works)
Ideally, could anyone post the correct command list to get the jog wheel working please? I tried copying Mixmonkey's original - this did once work before.. but no more.

I have the most recent upload of the csi (working using mcu mst) and not modified anything - i'd like to go from there then i can add all my other stuff i've done to my zon files.

Macbook pro - os el capitan - reaper 5.99 (some contextual toolbars that are fine in 5 don't work for me in 6 yet - issue reported)

THe things i have been able to program have been brilliant and can't wait to load it up with all my other commands - many thanks !

Forgive me Im not at my computer .trying to renember off the top my head. If none of this works somebody else here will get u going

Also, I am really excited to see that EuCon is still allowing me to create console surface layouts, and then use EuCon to map buttons to recall these layouts!!! This isn't without some rough edges, but is very promising.

I have a question about the VCA Spill function. I can see that I need to edit the .zon file, but am not sure how I trigger a spill on the surface?

Great to hear the S3 and Transport have come to life, will be adding much more as time goes on

As far as spill, just for testing:

First setup a button to Toggle overall VCA mode on and off:

Code:
Zone "Buttons|"
        ...
	someButton ToggleVCAMode
        ...
ZoneEnd
Then for testing do this:

Code:
Zone "Channel|"
        ...
	Select| TrackToggleVCASpill
        ...
ZoneEnd

Partially

There is also an internal .mst/.ost like file that is generated automatically, you will be able to see the results in the left most list on the Edit mode widow -- once it is again working -- soon

Ahh I see..:-) I shall put the hairs back I tore out earlier then and start focusing on other aspects of my hopeful migration.

Thanks again Geoff

The Zone that ends with "|" is a template Zone that is only instantiated in the Home Zone -- Included Zones section -- since it is Included you can't directly GoZone to get to it, you can GoZone "Home", but that resets everything.

The other 2 Zones are the "real" (instantiated Zones) that you CAN access directly using GoZone.

If that doesn't make sense, ask away, it's a bit subtle...

Hey guys,

This thread moves very fast and for whatever reason I am not getting the notifications for days at a time. I gotta figure that out.

Anyways I caught some acceleration stuff a while back. I use the MF Twisters native acceleration and that works like a dream already. So is this something I have to disable or is it in the Encoder widget now by default?

Try it.

If it doesn't feel right, try EncoderPlain or EncoderPlainReverse.

New build is up.

Widget List is back in Edit Mode window.

Just turn/press a control that is mapped in the .mst/.ost files.

You can also select a Surface in the dropdown to see the list for that Surface.

You can also generate a Widget list -- be aware that this can take some time -- the EuCon one takes forever

Thanks, Geoff!

I just uploaded new files for the Icon Nano which may replace the old ones in the beta version.
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/38686/CSI_IconNano_2_0.zip

I also put my FX.zones in the stash
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/38685/CSI_FX_zones.zip

mostly the Reaper Cockos plugs but single- and multi-channel (8 channel) versions.

CSI is great!
Thanks!

You were actually right being suspicious about icon products,
the X+ stopped working two days after I got it.
I`m afraid I have to send it back.

However, it revealed valuable insights into the world of controlling surfaces as long as it worked.

I put the Icon Nano files in the stash (links below).

I faintly remember that you wanted to control send volume with rotaries 1-8, so I attach a version of the IconNano 2.0 zon where this is implemented.

No Fader, send volume = rotaries 1-8, Shift+Rotary1-8 = SendPan

A few people have recently asked for my X-Touch One files, and I posted them in another thread but will repost here just so people can find them.

There are two X-Touch One .zon folders there, one for a "SelectedTrack" workflow, which I prefer. Another for a "Bank of 8" type workflow (I think I called it Standard). I may still make updates, and a few things may have custom scripts assigned to them (like TrackBank in Selected Track Workflow is just a script that selects the next track up or down 8 times in quick succession).

Feel free to download using this link (Behringer X-Touch One Files Here):
https://forum.cockos.com/attachment....5&d=1584462637

There's also an image file showing how each button is mapped. The .zon files have instructions at the top about how to set the unit up.

CSI is not in the controller list after installing it.

I put the CSI folder in the Reaper directory and the 64bit dll (64bit reaper and 64bit windows) in the user plugin folder.

Any hints?

Have a look at the wiki Installation instructions, you may need the VC++ runtime.

Geoff, could the new acceleration also apply to the rate of 'stepping' through stepped parameters?

Sidenote. Here's a full 360 degree clockwise turn on a Midi Fighter Twister as a 3f/41 encoder. This is from the console output. 110 lines.

Data from MidiOX on the same action. This is of course not 100% precise. I might turn the knob a little further or not quite as far the second time. It's 106 lines in this case.

It's nice to see a constant value though . The left turn is -0.015625 (console output) and 3F(MidiOX).

Great idea !

Will have to ponder a bit...

I ask because I've been wrestling with some particularly poorly scaled plugin parameters and I've been using the stepped parameter construct to 'correct' the rubbish scaling.

This has been reasonably successful. I've been able to introduce more steps at the end of the scale that was too 'coarse' and now I'm trying to taper off the 'fine' steps back into something that means I don't have to turn the rotary dozens of times to get to the other end

It struck me that if the acceleration could be applied to the rate of 'stepping', it might make the tapering process a bit easier. I guess it means that when turned faster, the acceleration would cause steps to be 'jumped', so the control gets coarser.

I also wondered whether it might be possible to introduce the concept of step lookup tables and reference these with a link in the fx.zon. It would save repeating the same, long step set over and over.

Came here to post this exact observation. Confirmed with EuCon 19.12.1.23 and S3 + Transport.

PS: As this thread grows towards 10,000 posts, isn't it worth considering splitting up discussions into sub-threads so as to allow for a more focused discussion? Maybe is my limited brain capacity, but I get lost very quickly when its all in the one linear stream.
