Default Theme Matching Reaper Version!

Is it important to use a custom theme that is new in order to be compatible with the latest version, or will a theme based on an earlier version still work?

Old versions work fine

Does it matter at all when a theme was created? I'm guessing it's best to find the latest version of a particular theme . . . assuming the designer's improvements were an improvement. ;-)

Older themes should work fine, but may not have the latest elements, since those elements were not available when the theme was created.

EXAMPLES:
- no_recarm states for the Recarm button
- Preview states for the Envelope or Automation button.
- Folder Indent for the MCP (mixer)

EDIT: 09/11/2020
I've been updating the Default 2 theme .
What I've found missing from it so far are:
- no I/O states for active sends, receives or both
- Norec images for armed but disable recording.
- no Preview state for envelope/Automation
- no dedicated image for input FX button
- no dedicated image or code for the Recording Input on the TCP or the MCP. It's only accessible on the TCP meter when a track is armed.
- no folder indent
- no code for folder collapsible states in the MCP
- no volume or pan knobs, only faders (aka: sliders)
