Default Why video quality rendered by Reaper is not good?

Hello,
I'm new to Reaper.
I don't do video editing with Reaper, I only edit the audio file of the videos.
I have noticed when I render a video file (after editing its audio), at the time of playback the first few seconds of the video has a poor quality, then it corrects to original quality.
Appreciate instructions how to fix it.
Thank you

I don't have an answer for your question, but I suggest instead of rendering a new video file, use a tool to extract the audio, edit it, then re-combine the edited audio with the video. That way nothing is being double compressed.

NO!
If nothing changes to the visuals, there's no need to render a video.

render from reaper as audio and then replace the audio in the original video file with FFMPEG.

I cannot edit audio separately, because in some sections I change the timing and would like that to reflect on the video too.
I can do the video editing in a video editor, but the audio may not have the high quality of Reaper.

Then you do do video editing in Reaper.

You're saying the rendered file has a poor quality section baked in at the beginning, but then the quality for some reason corrects itself?

What program are you playing back the exported video in?

Just to add my voice to this subject the same thing is happening to me as well. I record music videos in OBS, drag them into Reaper and edit the audio. When I render the project and upload to YouTube the first couple of seconds of the video is almost always broken up. I couldn't find what was going on and as the first second or two of the video is just me turning stuff on I left it (for now).

Try VLC first and let us know if the problem persists.

For future reference if somebody else has the same problem, my issue was solved.

I did install VLC and made sure Reaper recognized it, but my computer still opens videos with Windows Media Player, so don't know how much the installation of VLC was helpful.
I think what helped solve the problem was installing FFMEG. It needs some tweaks, but by watching this excellent video and some Google search it can be done:

You'll probably want to change your Windows default for Music player and Video player to VLC. In the search bar type Default Apps and click on the existing app to get your change options and select VLC.

You can also use VLC by right clicking on the video or MP3 and selecting VLC in the "Open With" option.

Hopefully you're aware that the excellent video you mentioned is authored by the same individual that replied a couple of times to your issue. This kind of knowledge base and support allows us to enjoy riding the learning curve.

It’s been mentioned a couple times that Reaper needs an option to simply Mux video to audio instead of re-encoding… seems like a fairly straightforward thing to implement since FFMPEG already has that functionality…
