Automatically record-disarm when opening with different audio device
Summary: An option (or general behavior) to automatically disarm any record-ready tracks when a REAPER project is opened with a different audio device.
Request: An option to obtain the following behavior: If REAPER registers that a project is opened with a different audio device than it was last saved with, it automatically disarms all record-ready tracks.
Benefit: No unexpected routing/signal chain issues like potential feedbacks, when opening a project with a different audio device.
Reason: When I record with a mobile setup on my laptop using audio device A, close the session with still some tracks record-armed and then get back to my desktop computer, open the same project there for post-production, the assigned inputs and outputs change according to the audio device B there. If this happens to be, say some system device (like WASAPI) featuring stereo mix as an input, it can create a nasty feedback right on load of the project. Disarming record-ready tracks on a detected audio device change would prevent that.
