There are tons of places to get free plugins, try
www.vst4free.com for a starter and sift your way through them.
Plugins are like socks, the ones that give you a nice fluffy feeling of warmth may make others itch with reckless abandon.
There is a chorusing (32bit) VST I found there, Chorus CH-2 - it will crash Reaper every-time.
Pity because it had a nice sound if you played with it enough.
Most of the plugins I use are Reaper included or free VST's from various places. As most are just .dll files (no installers), it is pretty easy to copy the dll to your VST plugins folder, try then out and then banish them to the cutting room floor if you don't like them.
If you want, send me a PM and I can upload what I have in a 7z to Mega or the likes for you to download.
