Default Request for a lua master

Howdy... please bare with me as this might get a little long:

I am looking for more, fast, flexibility in changing various views in the MCP when I have it floating in its own window... so at a given time it can show only certain tracks. And then when I go back to the TCP with the MCP docked as a "track inspector", it will show all tracks.

Lokasenna [whose work I just love] has already made a nice lua to show hide tracks and it is useful but has some limitations for my desires. More about those limitations later...

OK, in Reaper we have the Track Manager, which can show\hide tracks in both the TCP and MCP. Now this does exactly what I want.
However it is really tedious to make the changes in it for lots of tracks over and over again whenever I switch my screenset view.
I really only care about two screensets:

1-The TCP with MCP docked to the left as a 'track inspector'
2-The MCP floating in it's own window

OK so what do I want for a lua?

I would love a lua that would save any given set up of the native Track Manager as a preset, that can be recalled into the Track Manager.

[comment: This IMO is something that 'should be' natively included in the Track Manager!] ---but, alas it is not---

I wrote to Lokasenna and he said he thought it could done but he is too busy to take it on... so I'm hoping someone else might give it a go?

Thanks for listening...%^)

I'm curious... why don't you use HeDa Track Inspector Tags? I think it is what you want. I am currently also developing a command to make custom actions to show hide certain tags directly, so you could assign a shortcut to show only some tags.. or to activate tag presets.

Hmmmm I did not think about doing it that way, mainly cuz while I personally use your track inspector, I am currently building some templates for a friend who is on a Mac... and he is not as deep into reaper and scripts as I am [as a user I mean..

I wanted to set him up to mostly use native reaper with a few lua's but to have more flexibility in his floating mixer screen set so it will fit his screen better...

I am thinking I might solve the problem with getting him to donate to your VIP and get him your Mixer and do it that way...

Even so... I'd still like to see some manner of presets or snapshots for native Track Manager

Thanks Heda for helping think about this and for all you do!

Well thank you for promoting the scripts to new potential VIP members hehe I am not good at marketing or telling people how the scripts work. I agree that for new users they have enough to learn with just native REAPER. I think Track Inspector tags are a cool feature that not many know about. You can put the tags in the track templates too so then clicking autotag button apply all the tags automatically. Or have all children of a specific folder have automatic tags applied too. You can also open additional floating mixer windows for each specific tag show/hide or isolate a specific tag... Yes I need to do a tutorial or something

a tutorial would be good.... because this stuff can get fairly complex...
hmmm... maybe you could bribe Kenny G to do a couple?
