Default Sunrise

Our first pop song and our first attempt to do a serial (non-live) recording

(Me being very happy to be able to for the first time use my 1" Condenser instead of the SM58 for the singer )

(Supposedly we are going to re-record some tracks...)

Thanks a lot !

The idea indeed was to do something "nice" and "easy listening" after two rather "dramatic" productions (https://soundcloud.com/user-213300358)

Nice!
What makes this really pleasant is the 'room' feel.
A 'local/club' feel?
I would say that it enhance the recording 100%
Please share your reverb setup.

In fact it's astonishing, that there is a coherent room feel at all (but I am happy that there is), as I don't use any effect bus, but (like to) create a dedicated room for each track directly in it's FX chain.

The one that seems the most club-like is the overheads used for the snare (no cymbals in this song, but I use the same paradigm with the other pieces with the full drum kit). Here I do a true stereo reverb with two instances of ReaVerb and with the left and right versions of the "small wooden room" from "Samplacity M7".

For the singer and the sax I use simply the built-in Rev and delay impulses of ReaVerb, after doing a room processing by "Sheppy" for the voice and "Space 360" for the sax.

(No payed plugins anywhere, Voc mic for some $150, both overheads for some $ 100 together , other instruments DI. )
