Not my kind of Music, so I can't comment on this, but your recording to me sounds more "real" than the ones at the Pianoteq website. In fact the most realistic Pianoteq example I heard yet.

Piet's Berliner Jam demo sounds very realistic to me... Pianoteq sitting really nicely in that mix.

But what OP recorded here is very nice too!

Caffeinated music -
It is clear to me that you know what you are doing with pianos + composition,so I did not mention that sustained end note in my previous post...you cut off it's tail.The first time I heard it I was slightly disappointed,however I decided you must have done it deliberately.Of course I expected and wanted it to have taken it's time to fade away.

Piano Décembre 2018 is on my list, when I have money for music once again.

You're absolutely right about that sustained end note !
I did a little sloppy work, too eager to publish.
I just corrected that. I allowed the sound to go until it was naturally extinguished.
So the track takes now five seconds more...

Bonsoir Michael,
Realism : Perhaps it's because I often change some basic settings in Pianoteq presets.
For example, I always set the output to "Stereophonic", while the basic setting is "Sound Recording". Maybe it can make a difference.
Anyway Pianoteq is constantly improving.
Each update brings new pianos that are more and more realistic, and the instruments of the old versions are revisited and benefit from the latest developments.
Maybe the demos on the site don't always follow the latest improvements.

Hard to make a choice between the last released pianos from Pianoteq !
For the moment my two favorites are Ant. Petrof and C Bechstein DG, with some personal adjustments.

I did a test with the same MIDI file :

Beautiful and intriguing work Gérard!
You've given me serious reason to reconsider Pianoteq.
The last version I had demoed (maybe two versions ago) sounded good but, like a very good CGI creation, I could always tell it wasn't a real piano. This latest incarnation seems to have gone way beyond what I last experienced.
I've just been back to their website and have spent some time there thinking that I really must take a serious look at this. After all, piano is my primary instrument and I can easily spend hours improvising on a good acoustic piano.

My current favourite virtual piano is the C7 in Spectrasonics Keyscape but I'm suspecting Pianoteq 6 may change that!

nice one! You made me curious about testing the demo of the Bechstein. I purchased Pianoteq long time ago with Steinway D and K2 but I always have this noises in the high frequencies. This new Bechstein sounds a bit better and the noises are much less noticeable, specially in the preset DG D 282. I may have to buy this
