Nice to see take fx Ara tweaks.
Polite FR:
A render/print ARA fx *only* option when in track mode.
(I.e disable any fx>slot1 (Ara) - render the fx - disable Ara fx - re enable any fx slot>1 )
I have a macro doing this bit think a default eqauivalent would be worth having for all users.

Thanks for the render fixes!
Please think about implementing 2nd pass rendering at some point (so that reaper loops the audio once round first before rendering to disk.
This way not only do reverbs get properly baked into the file but it also means that minimal phase effects like eq also don't cause glitches then.
Currently we have to render these files to a secondary project project (with audio either side of the wanted area) and then cut and render again.
Takes ages

That's a huge one for me....It comes in handy when you just want to tweak a few sections.

Indeed, this is great too! thanks!
So does this mean using Ara on a per take/item basis is ok now? I've not been keeping up with Ara too much.

With Midi CC event modifier set to any of freehand actions, velocity editing doesn't work. Just cant select velocity handle.

Just tried to break Ara on items and it did quite well with splitting moving time stretching and multiple copied takes and even copying to new tracks and editing again etc
Had a crash but that was when I tried to edit the synthesis section so probably ara related

I apologize for the immodesty to write it here, but I would very much like to have some (in my opinion simple, but important) new features..
1. Search track (channel) by name in Mixer :
find, highlight and auto scroll to selected track (channel).
2. Increase / Decrease the distance between selected points (horizontally) on envelope (option in mouse modifiers... e.c. with mouse wheel).
There are more wishes, but I do not want to test your patience, I apologize again ..
Thanks for everything !!!
Dear Devs you're amazing !!!

You're posting feature requests that are unrelated to the focus of this prerelease... There's a FR subforum you should use for more general feature requests
BTW is there a way to go back to the bars mode? I would always like to be able to see which CCs are actually generated by the "continuous" curve, so having some sort of overlay of bars along with the curve would be nice.

About MIDI editor: display CC events as envelopes, can we have also linear interpolation between points just like the automation envelopes ?
Now i can achieve this only by applying tension to make a curve from square.

If you select some CC points and right-click event properties, you can change the shape to linear or curved, and then the values will be interpolated on playback. You can also change the default curve shape for new CC events.
Please note that this feature is extremely alpha and will require lots of rounds of testing and fixing!

That's the thing. I want to know which value is sent when. I assume it's using the PPQ resolution set in Preferences? Does it also automatically not clog the event stream with repeated CC values if they are identical?

Indeed i though it wasn't possible but it's my fault since the default shape was square.
Everything works fine,great feature!

Yeah I'm just testing with a MIDI logger, repeated MIDI CCs are not thinned out of the generated MIDI CC stream... please make it happen. This is not going to be good for some older external hardware synths, even at 960 PPQ.
A MIDI CC should be generated/sent out only if it has a different value than the previous event, I would say.

Yeah, I'm curious about the resolution of CC signals from a curve.
Also, it seems like the shape of the points is changed when using some of juliansader's CC scripts. I know extensions aren't supported by Cockos, etc., but I would think the default in any case would be to leave the shape alone unless a script specifies a different shape.

It would be helpful to have actions (like envelopes) to reduce the number of CC points (both while drawing and from selection).

Looks like you have to click and drag the velocity bar without releasing the mouse button. Clicking on a velocity bar, releasing the mouse button, and trying to re-click to adjust is hit-or-miss.

Thanks for the MIDI CC envelopes! This is BIG!
I'd like to be able to add a CC envelope point without having to move the mouse in the CC lane. Just left-click to add.
Thanks!

I definitely agree with this. I can give an example - among others - where bars are more useful than envelopes : when "CC selection follows note selection" option is ON, depending on the zoom level, is easier to see the CC selection range with the bar design than with the envelope, as far as I can see on a quick test. An option to toggle between one or the other view is the best solution in my opinion.
The avoidance of repeated event values is also a crucial topic.
Devs, immense thanks for the non-stop development, as usual!

Agh, sorry. Surface 4 Pro here at the moment (am abroad in Berlin), has a bit higher pixel density, forgot about that. Will just link to the screencap.
Also try with these mouse modifiers for default action:
MIDI CC event left click/drag: Edit selected velocities, or freehand draw CC events
MIDI CC segment left click/drag: Move CC segment
It's really as simple as doing this to repro it:
https://i.imgur.com/gryuDiJ.gif
Also with "Edit selected velocities, or freehand draw CC events" it seems impossible to actually edit velocity events...

Another Midi CC mouse modifiers complain:
Midi CC segment: Insert CC event, drag to move - doesn't work.
Also: hard to see velocity bars when using light track color for notes coloring.

In your case you might want to tweak the CC lane background color for more contrast in Theme development.

Sure I can, but contrasted outline would be better solution than tweaking default theme.
Also, AFAIK there's no separate option for CC lane color.
