Default Anyone recommend a DrumRack AU/VST like Ableton or Nerve?

RSOM5K is kind of a bi-otch to use and it's extremely unfriendly when you export the project and it tries copying all of your samples (bad if you're using a huge library like SM Drums).

I really like loading kits in Ableton's Drum Rack.

I've been using Nerve with REAPER for a few years. It's way better than using SM5K. I'm currently experimenting with TAL-Sampler and MegaBaby.

Sitala seems pretty similar to drum rack...check Jon's review at Reaperblog.

I recommend Renoise Redux.

I create kits from samples i find online and save them as track templates in Reaper together with megababy sequencer.

It is not an elegant solution like Abletons drum rack but the best i've found so far.

That's a shame. I'll probably give it a try on windows this weekend and see if any better.

Geist 2 is an absolute beast of a drum sampler as far as features go. In regards to sound design, Ableton racks are king due to being able to add any vsti to a pad. I think geist 2 would come in second.

The interface, however, is a bit overwhelming and can be slow in some situations. Still pretty good tho. Also, it's kind of a demanding plugin. also not cheap.

I would recommend posting a thread over at KVRaudio and asking to buy someones license of Battery 3. It's an old plugin, but it's very powerful and runs super fast. I think I paid somebody like 40 bucks for their license. Be warned though, I could only get it to work on windows. It crashed on my mac setup. Apple tends to change their OS in ways that breaks older stuff.

You could also get Battery 4, it's great too. Just will be more expensive.
